A mixture of kit that I’ve recently received and not yet fully tested yet and some tried and tested favourites that I will be writing up soon. I’ve included links so you can check the latest prices on Amazon.
I work from home and take part in a lot of video calls. I've tried several different microphones out, and this one is by far the best solution for my setup. It really is studio quality. I've got it mounted on a spring-loaded arm so I can position it in front of my face or push it aside when not in use. The difference in sound quality is remarkable. I also use it for VoiceOver work. I've had this in use for several months. I'll do a proper review of it when I've caught up with myself.
I've had this since July 2025 and properly used it on two occasions, both times it has been reliable and produced far superior sound to what we could have achieved using iPhones. If you're using your phone as the camera, that means the phone's mic is almost certainly not ideally positioned to capture your voice effectively so you really need one of these. I don't use it as a transmitter, I just press record and then copy the saved audio file into Final Cut Pro and stitch it together. Very happy with it so far but I want to test it some more and learn more about it.
Arrived one week ago. I bought this because I often get my Toro Zero Turn lawn mower stuck in soft ground and it's too heavy to pull out by myself. I've been using HGV ratchet straps to pull it out, not ideal so I thought I'd try something a bit more professional. I've had a play with it and used it once in anger so far and I'm very impressed. It was able to inch my ride on lawn mover up a steep bank and it was also able to drag it sideways onto solid ground. Will test a few more times and then review properly.
